BharOs next generation of Mobile Technology - Break on iOS and Android domination.

Milestone added to Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan"Self-Reliant-India" ,JandK Operations Private Limited (JandKops), a non-profit organization that is incubated at IIT Madras developed  its first new indigenous operating system that is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) named BharOS.It is designed to be a secure and powerful operating system for Indian users.

Installation Can be on

The newly developed operating software, BharOS, can be installed on commercially available mobile devices. The developers of BharOS claim that the new OS has been designed to offer a more secure experience for the users by providing better protection for their data and privacy. The OS can be installed on any standard mobile devices, which makes it widely accessible to the users.
Features
BharOS is a mobile operating system that has been designed to give users greater control over the security and privacy of their devices. The developers of BharOS have highlighted some of the key features of the new OS, which include:

BharOS does not include any unnecessary software or pre-installed apps, which gives users more storage space on their devices. By not including any default apps, users are not forced to use any apps that they may not trust.
BharOS offers "Native Over The Air" (NOTA) updates, which are similar to the updates that are available in Android. This means that software updates will be automatically downloaded and installed on the device, without the need for any manual intervention.

Security and Privacy

The BharOS operating system also includes a feature that allows users to access Private App Store Services (PASS), which are a curated list of apps that have been vetted by specific organizations. The PASS feature ensures that the apps that are available for download have met certain security and privacy standards set by these organizations. This means that users can be confident that the apps they are downloading and installing are safe to use and have been checked for any potential security vulnerabilities or privacy concerns, as per the statement from the developers. This feature adds an extra layer of security and privacy protection for the users of BharOS.

BharOS is an operating system that is intended for use by specific institutions, such as organizations or government bodies, whose users handle sensitive information that requires confidential communication and the use of restricted apps on mobile devices. It will only be made available to these particular institutions as it has been designed to provide a secure and private environment for handling sensitive information, which is not available to general public. This means that the OS will be used only by specific groups that have a need for advanced security and privacy features on their mobile devices.

BharOS vs  Android

BharOS is technically similar to Android as it is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). However, it differs from Google's Android in that it does not include Google services and allows users to install their own apps. In terms of features, BharOS is similar to Android as it is based on the same open-source project (AOSP), and does not come with pre-installed apps. This means that users will have more control over the apps that are installed on their devices and will not be forced to use any apps that they do not trust.

Date of Releasing

The release date and supported smartphones for BharOS are unknown, but it's expected that smartphone manufacturers will collaborate to launch BharOS-running phones in the near future.

Installation Process

Limited information about BharOS has been released, and it is unclear how it will replace pre-installed OS. The OS's developers may collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs) to launch BharOS-supported smartphones in the future, but no confirmed models are announced. However, it is rumored that BharOS will be compatible with some Google Pixel models.
