The latest COVID-19 news and case numbers from each Australian jurisdiction were reported on February 3, 2023.
Each state and territory now reports their statistics weekly, instead of daily updates. The numbers showed a decrease in new cases compared to last week in most states and territories.
In New South Wales, there were 6,567 new cases, 88 deaths and 1,031 hospitalizations. Victoria recorded 3,056 new cases, 70 deaths, and 144 hospitalizations. The ACT saw 420 new cases, five deaths and 11 hospitalizations.
South Australia had 1,286 new cases, 14 deaths and 65 hospitalizations.
Queensland had 4,414 new cases, 35 deaths and 226 hospitalizations. WA recorded 2,146 new cases, 11 deaths and 154 hospitalizations.
Tasmania saw 321 new cases, three deaths and 18 hospitalizations. In the NT, there were 166 new cases and 14 hospitalizations, but no deaths were reported
